Tuesday and my phlox are finally blooming
August 31, 2010 4 Comments
Okay it’s August 31st right? My phlox that I planted at in the spring are finally blooming. Well sort of. Both of these pots and a few others were planted with at least 5 phlox each and you can see my phlox crop? This is one of the reasons I am not buying anymore plants from Costco.
See the snapdragon in the upper left? It is growing in the crack between the driveway and the paver around the planting area in our side yard. Last year I had Batchelor Buttons growing in the cracks.
I still need to get my vegetables in. I think I am resorting to plants from Miller Farms.
Thank you so much for visiting and leaving a comment on my blog! It’s really nice to find new bloggers through their comments. If you didn’t point out the snapdragon growing out of the crack, I would have thought that it was just growing out of the pot. And bachelor buttons growing in the cracks last year? Maybe you just have magical cracks! Hmm, that doesn’t sound quite right, but you know what I mean. 🙂 I don’t know where you’re located, but I hope you decide on some good vegetables to grow them this fall.
This is my first year with vegetable gardening, and I had no idea how much fun and rewarding the whole experience would be.
Sorry to hear that your phlox did not do well… I haven’t had the best luck with it myself:)
I read your earlier post and admire what you are doing… it is quite a shift but one that I am sure will be fulfilling. Blessings on your new adventure.

My phlox have sulked for the last summer–not one single blossom on any of them. They used to be such lovely pink bloomers. I’m sad yours didn’t do well, but I’m glad that I wasn’t the only one failing at phlox!
I’ve had two little phlox plants in the back border that haven’t bloomed in three years. I was ready to write them off when lo, and behold, they started blooming about 3 weeks ago. I think they are a bit fussy…but again, maybe that’s just for me. 🙂
Thanks for sharing at the Tuesday Garden Party!
