52 weeks-week 10 for me, but I didn’t actually organize this week.

Did i organize this week. first of all, i had computer problems yesterday and need a new keyboard. this may be hard to read, but here goes.
first of all may i just say that prednisone is a friggin miracle drug. yesterday i woke up pain-free for the first time in about 1.5 years. i had a completely normal day, well if you call chasing a 2.5 year old around, try to get her to take a nap, keep her from gouging or hitting, watching her actually share and giggle with her bff, our neighbor. daughter and grdaughter arrived wednesday and i gave the bff’s their baby blankets;
i don’t have a real organizing project this week, just getting ready for the arrival of sweet granddaughter, who now talks up a storm at 2.5, was enough for me.
however, inspired by aleandra, missing letter…over at http://www.talkingdollarsandcents.net/organizing-my-doggys-space , i figured i would show you our dogs routine.
here is his treat cupboard;
it is the top shelf in our dining room credenza. when opened it is filled with;
you may be asking yourself why so many treats for one dog…..have i told you the story of my 81-year-old mother who was at costco, got hungry, had a coupon for ‘jerky’, thought it looked good, bought it, got it out to the car and took a big bite before realizing it was for dogs….yes it’s a classic…..well she trotted over and gave them to me for landon. he is feeling very needy now that granddaughter is here. he is especially humiliated to have been kicked off his comfortable bed and reduced to sleeping on the man cave leather recliner;
we keep his new bags of food in;
so we keep the large container in the garage and a zip lock container holds a more manageable container of food on our kitchen drainboard by the microwave.
but now onto the really best part of my week, after the girl’s arrival of course….the arrival of a new order of fabric from www.pinkchalkfabric.com
i ordered my usual Moda and Amy Butler, but found some cute Timeless Treasures, the cute jungle group, but also branched out to a couple of new to me designers, including Party Dress by Mo Bedell for Blue Hill Fabrics and then a fat quarter set with a couple of matching yard cuts of Greenfield Hill by Denyse Schmidt Designs for Westminster Fabrics ‘Preservation Peony, it is the blue grouping of fabric that is so beautiful. Along with those i purchased two border type prints that will be cute for little girl quilts called Spring Fling by David Walker also for Westminster, and lastly two prints made in Japan called From Little Things by Susan Fielke, printed by Lecien. I also bought one yard of a print from the Moda It’s a Hoot line for only 4.95 for my daughter who had bought a bit of it to make my granddaughter one of those cute tiered printed skirts.
so i am feeling very rich in fabric and rich in life right now. I don’t really know when i will get another project done at this point with my son-in-law arriving home from Afghanistan in about a week or so, doctor’s appointments, weekly pain management group and driving cross country sometime in late April, but will be getting back to the fabulous challenge from www.orgjunkie.com. Go check and see what everyone is doing to change their lives.
The jerky story made my day. LOL
That skirt is gorgeous! Do you have an etsy store? It sounds like life is about to get very busy for you, but in a good way.
You all are so nice. Megan, I do not have one yet, but may when I can get enough quilted projects done to stock one a little. My youngest daughter has a small one. She actually started with Yo Gabba Gabba characters on shirts after making one for granddaughter, when she took Ally to see them live in Tacoma last fall. My daughter actually made the skirt. She never sewed or was interested until she lived with me for the time her husband has been in Afghanistan.
Me too! The jerky story! A classic indeed. Love catching up with you and your beautiful family. You are the best Grandma ever. xoxo – Iris

Love your stories. The fabric you have is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing all your creations.
What precious time with your granddaughters!
The part about the jerky was my favorite too, too funny! Adorable little skirt! So glad the prednisone is helping you!
