The Farmer’s Wife-First 10 blocks-March 31, 2012

I am participating in two different blocks of the month clubs at my local quilt store, www.redwoodsewingcenter.com.  I am using Ruby by Moda for The Farmer’s Wife Group.  We met for the first time last month.  I am using a jelly roll to start so I am trying to use up the strips, thus the matchy, matchy look right now.  As I add more strips, it will begin to be a little more interesting.

We are using Perfect Patchwork Templates from Marti Michell, which enable me to use little scraps I normally would have tossed.

So far they are working great.

The storms have been blowing this week in Humboldt County and today is no exception.  I’ll share my seedlings that are sprouting in Tuesday’s Garden party posting.

love the quilt patches. I’ve yet to do much sewing this year. I want to make a cute apron for my granddaughter for her 4th birthday in May so I better get hopping. Also a quilt,,,,Christmas? Good to hear from you again. We have had rain this week. Poured on Thurs evening and when Megan and I went down south 20 miles, there was water standing in fields by the interstate. So glad we parked indoors but it wasn’t raining then. Sigh! Actually saw blue sky today!

  2. the quilt blocks look nice. i haven’t done any sewing in a long time and I want to make something for melody for her birthday in May, so I better get hopping! It’s a cute coverall apron that you can use as a long top over a shirt with a shirt or pants underneath. I haven’t figured out the fabric. Also a quilt for Christmas but the rate I’m going….hahaha! It’s good to hear from you. It’s been chilly and wet here. Yesterday south of us was fields with lots of water. Been raining again. Hubby actually mowed the lawn today. It was so high and wet but it looks better. Some of the grass tops were turning a bit dry. Take care and thanks for sharing and motivating me.

  3. Your quilt looks beautiful! I love the bright colors. I will look for you at the garden party! I’ve been super busy, but it’s finally stopped raining and warmed up enough I could get out in the garden and start to get a few things done.
